Casper Specialty UK Limited ("Casper") is a specialist casualty focused MGA operating across the UK and internationally with capacity support from Lloyd's. Casper underwrites a broad range of FI, Professional Lines and Cyber, with a significant portfolio of casualty business.
Casper's founding management team bring strong reputations in the market for delivering underwriting outperformance over many years and across a number of underwriting platforms. We specialise in leveraging data to offer real-time access to our capacity partners, providing them with greater visibility over business written and underwriting performance.
Meet the team
Brad is the founding member of Casper and is responsible for determining the overarching goals and initiatives of the business. He drives strategic planning, business development and fiscal operations whilst establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders and creating and nurturing a culture of transparency and openness throughout the company.
He has over 35 years of (Re)Insurance experience and has held Director and CUO positions at Danish Re, Vibe and Pro MGA solutions as well as most recently Deputy Active at Argenta Syndicate. Although he has predominately a casualty background, he has a strong knowledge of many other specialty and property related classes of business.
Brad is married with four children and three grandchildren, he is an avid sports fan, particularly golf, boxing and football with Liverpool FC being his real passion.

Simon makes sure that everything behind the scenes works and that our underwriters can do their job effectively. He is also responsible for growing and developing the business.
He has worked in the insurance market for 17 years and in financial services for 27 years. He has held Director and CEO roles at Vibe Managing Agency, Plus Risk, Polo Managing Agency and Polo Commercial Insurance Services and is a NED for Icen Risk and Siepe Sports.
Having three teenage daughters, one of things he most enjoys about work is that occasionally he is listened to. He is a keen sportsman and played rugby for a number of years. Recently in a doomed attempt to hold back time he has started to compete in the Hyrox fitness racing series.

Hugh is responsible for setting the Casper underwriting agenda and ensuring that business transacted is consistent and profitable to deliver value for stakeholders.
He is a Financial Lines underwriter by background and has been in the insurance industry for 30 years. Over the years, Hugh has gained knowledge of many diverse risks and territories but has focused on Crime risks as a speciality.
He has a BA (Hons) in English & American Literature from the University of Warwick.

Nick joined Casper in December 2023 from Munich Re Syndicate where he was Group Head of Financial Lines. Prior to this, he spent over 20 years at Canopius as Head of Casualty and FinPro. Nick has served as both Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the IUA Banks Underwriting Group and is a long-standing member of the LMA FI Panel. Nick is also a lifelong Northampton Saints and England rugby fan.
Jacob joined from Argenta Syndicate Management Limited, where he was Head of Delegated Underwriting Management, responsible for managing all aspects of Syndicate 2121’s Delegated Authority book. His previous experience also includes roles at Chesterfield Insurance Brokers, AmTrust and Antares, and he brings to Casper more than a decade of experience in the Lloyd’s market, with deep expertise in the operational set-up and ongoing support of delegated underwriting.
Jacob began his new role in June 2024 and is responsible for the further development of Casper’s operational infrastructure, with a particular focus on how the MGA captures, stores and uses data.

Andrew joined Alexander Stenhouse as a PI & DO broker in 1988. After 8 years, he began underwriting PI at R.E Brown 702 which went on to become Markel Syndicate 3000. He then joined Vibe for 4 years and then moved to Argenta as Head of Class.
Andrew has an extensive knowledge of all lines of Professional Indemnity. He has a BA (Hons), ACII, and is a Chartered Insurer.
Andrew supports West Ham United, Saracens RFC, Sussex CCC & the Washington Commanders and enjoys playing golf, swimming & international travel.

Rebecca joins Casper as Class Underwriter for D&O. Her role at Casper involves developing and growing the D&O book which includes commercial risks, Financial Institutions, EPL, PTl and POSI cover. The current appetite comprises of predominantly SME risks from Europe, Canada, Australia and the Middle East but most territories are considered.

Stuart has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance market focusing on the Professional Indemnity arena since 1992.
Stuart has held senior underwriting positions with Alterra, Markel, Vibe and Argenta over the past 12 years and has joined the team at Casper as Class Underwriter for Professional Indemnity on the firm’s establishment in 2023.
Stuart brings a wealth of experience and an extensive knowledge of all lines of professional risk.

With seven years experience in the industry, Amy began her career back in 2016 at Vibe Syndicate as an Underwriting Assistant for the PI team.
In January 2020, she moved to Argenta Syndicate and transitioned to the role of Assistant PI Underwriter, gradually building up her own book of business.
Amy is currently in the process of completing her Diploma in insurance.

Tom is the underwriting assistant to the financial institutions and D&O underwriters, having joined Hugh at Argenta in 2022.
Tom has a BSc in Economics and an MSc in Information Technology with Business and Management from the University of Sussex and has achieved the Certificate in Insurance (CII). He is working towards further CII achievements.
Tom is an avid sports fan, especially going to watch his beloved Arsenal. He also loves music, and is in a number of bands and writes his own songs which are available to download on Spotify!

Nemone is an underwriting assistant at Casper, this is her first full-time position in the financial services industry since completing college.
Outside of work, Nemone has been a cheerleader for over 9 years and has had the opportunity to travel and compete at a high level in various locations across the UK and the US.

Jake joined Casper’s D&O team in 2024 and has over five years of experience in the insurance industry. His diverse background includes handling motor claims, property broking, and underwriting for Financial Institutions. He also holds a Cert CII qualification and is working towards his Diploma in Insurance.
Outside of work, Jake has a keen interest in martial arts, regularly practicing boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is also an avid Spurs fan.

Fraser joins Casper as the class Underwriter for Cyber and will be developing our Cyber and Tech E&O portfolio.
With 9 years of Lloyd’s Cyber expertise, he joins Casper having previously worked at Talbot, Tokio Marine Kiln and Beazley Syndicates. Fraser is adept at underwriting all industry segments from SME to Large Risks across all jurisdictions. The appetite at Casper for Cyber and Tech is predominantly SME businesses for both Primary and Excess on a worldwide basis.
